Rogers Commercial Centre Opens on Lady Musgrave Road as Kingston Lifestyle Hub

The Rogers Commercial Centre has opened on Lady Musgrave Road in Kingston, positioning a stretch of the capital as a new lifestyle destination where residents and visitors can shop, dine, unwind and access care in one place.

The white commercial complex was delivered in roughly two years, on schedule and within budget, at a cost of US$15.5 million. Developers describe the site as Kingston's emerging hip strip, combining wellness services, entertainment venues, restaurants, and dental and healthcare facilities.

Kingston Mayor Andrew Swaby joined officials at the launch, saying the project's timely completion sends a strong signal that the city remains open to meaningful investment. He noted that as countries worldwide compete for growth, developments like this show Kingston continues to draw individuals and organisations willing to back its future.

Norman Horn, founder and executive chairman of Arc Manufacturing, told the gathering that the opening reflected what can happen when vision, courage, faith and hard work align. He said Jamaican entrepreneurs can compete with the best at home and abroad, and praised investor Ripton Wharton Rogers for dreaming big, investing heavily and building at scale.

Rogers, managing director of Ripton Capital, Ripton Infrastructure, Ripton Real Estate and the Ripton Group of Companies, confirmed he owns the plaza. Born in Jamaica and raised partly in Canada, he said he returned to invest in the country and show that a boy from Central Village could rise to own a major development. He urged others that background and birthplace should not limit ambition.

Rogers also pointed to the concentration of national economic activity around key commercial corridors, citing a figure of 78 per cent of Jamaica's economy, as evidence that growth opportunities remain strongest in the capital.

Other speakers framed the project as proof of rising commerce and a buoyant Jamaican economy, and credited Fitz William Rogers for building his reputation on trust, respect and integrity. The development was welcomed as a statement that local business can think big, aim high and build boldly.
