St Elizabeth, Jamaica: A fatal crash on the Park main road has claimed the life of a 45-year-old chef following a collision involving two vehicles on Wednesday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Rohan Wright of Frazers district, New Market, in St Elizabeth.
Reports indicate that the crash occurred about 9:15 p.m. when a grey coaster bus transporting passengers was travelling from Montego Bay toward Santa Cruz. Investigators say Wright was driving a white Nissan AD Wagon when he reportedly entered the Park main road from a minor roadway.
The two vehicles collided, causing extensive damage to both units.
Emergency personnel responded to the crash and reportedly had to remove both drivers from their vehicles after they became trapped following the impact.
Six people, including the drivers of both vehicles, were taken to hospital for treatment. Wright later succumbed to his injuries at the Black River Hospital.
Police investigations into the crash are ongoing.
