Scotiabank Jamaica adds spoken ATM instructions at more than 280 machines

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Scotiabank Jamaica has begun offering audio guidance at selected automated teller machines (ATMs) across the country, the institution said Friday.

“We believe banking should be accessible to everyone and we are proud to introduce that our ATMs now have audio guidance. This feature enables individuals in the sight loss community to conduct transactions with greater independence, facilitating a seamless experience at our ATMs,” the bank said in a customer release.

Customers who want the spoken prompts can connect wired earphones to the headphone port on compatible units and follow voice directions through each step of a transaction.

More than 280 Scotiabank ATMs now carry the audio guidance function. Clients seeking further details and a directory of equipped locations may go to jm.scotiabank.com.
