Clarendon Relatives Seek Public Help Locating Desmond Williams, 37

Relatives in Clarendon are pressing for public assistance in locating Desmond Williams, who is 37 and has not been accounted for since July 13.

Williams, who lives at Terrier Town Racetrack Denby in the parish, was last observed departing his residence in the early hours of Saturday. At the time he had on a white shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

His sister, Kadesha Williams, said the family has combed several districts after people reported they might have spotted him.

"The family is deeply affected. We are hurting. We are wondering. A lot of things running through our mind because we know that he is of an unsound mind. And if someone would have taken him there, then he would have been in an unfamiliar place, and it would be very hard for him to find his way back home."

For Kadesha, the effort to find Desmond is both a search for information and a hope that he returns safely. She noted that he often leaves the neighbourhood looking for work and casual jobs.

With no contact as the days stretch on, she is urging anyone who has encountered Desmond, or who can say where he is, to speak up so he can be reunited with his relatives.

"Jamaica, please. I'm asking you just to look around your community. If you go in the town, if you see him, look at the picture. If you see anyone who resemble him, who look like him, who fit the description that we are giving, and you can call your nearest police station or you can call a family member. My number is 4581435."
