1 min read

Jamaican long jumper Shantae Foreman delivered the strongest mark of her career, reaching 6.69 metres to place runner-up in the women’s long jump at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships in Oregon.

The Clemson University athlete bettered her old standard of 6.47m, and the effort now ranks as the 10th-farthest jump by a Jamaican woman.

On the track, Dejanae Oakley was quickest through the 400m qualifying round in 49.93 seconds. Gabrielle Matthews made progress to the 100m and 200m finals, while Janela Spencer and Tonie-Ann Forbes got into the 100m hurdles final. Oneka Wilson failed to move on.
