St Catherine Man Held After Spanish Town Lottery Scam Search

St. Catherine

Police took a 30-year-old man from St Catherine into custody in Spanish Town on Friday during an operation targeting suspected lottery scamming.

According to reports, detectives from the Anti-Lottery Scam Unit went to premises in the parish about 5:30 a.m. and conducted a search. They allegedly recovered an Apple MacBook, and early checks of an SD card said to be on the computer showed names and other personal data for people living overseas.

Investigators said they also confiscated an iPhone 17 believed to have held the material. The suspect was arrested for suspected breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transactions) (Special Provisions) Act.
