St James murder case against Constable Wilson advances to Circuit Court
A murder charge against Constable Andrew Wilson over the fatal shooting of Latoya “Buju” Bulgin, a Granville resident, will now be heard in the Circuit Court rather than the St James Parish Court.
Authorities entered a nolle prosequi that closed the parish-court phase and sent the matter straight to the Circuit Court. Wilson’s bail of $1 million remains in force. He is due before the Circuit Court on Monday for a case management hearing.
Bulgin died in May amid a protest. Closed-circuit television recordings capture a police officer discharging a firearm into the motor vehicle in which she was sitting.
