Supranational Jamaica 2026 finalists ready for Kingston coronation on Sunday

Kingston

Ten contestants are in the final line-up for the 2026 Mister and Miss Supranational Jamaica crowns, with the new titleholders to be named on Sunday, May 31, during an intimate-style staging at the Louise Bennett Garden Theatre on Hope Road in Kingston.

The finalists have spent several weeks in preparation ahead of the coronation event. As part of that build-up, they recently travelled to Princess Hotel & Resorts in Hanover for a weekend visit that included an impromptu runway presentation and a photo shoot.

Serene Lloyd, public relations manager at the resort, said Princess was pleased to welcome the group. “It was an absolute pleasure to host the contestants here. It’s an opportunity to show them our destination and the luxury experience that Princess is known for. They have an amazing audience as well and we want their audience to see the beauty of our properties and come to experience it as well,” Lloyd told Observer Online recently.

She also said the visit allowed the contestants to experience different parts of the resort. “Hosting them has been fabulous, we’re excited to have them. They’ve been around the property and interacting with our team members, experiencing the beach, the sun, food and beverage offerings and we are truly happy to have them.”

Pageant coordinator Barbie Mudahy said this year’s competitors have shown strong development as Sunday’s final approaches. “The finalists are looking really strong this year. What stands out most is the diversity in personality, confidence and overall presence. Everyone has been growing throughout the process, so it’s no longer just about appearance, you’re really seeing people step into themselves and become more polished, more comfortable and more prepared each week,” Mudahy said.

Mudahy said the preparation programme has covered several areas meant to sharpen the contestants for the stage and beyond. “Training has been very rewarding and well-rounded. Every week, the contestants are exposed to different areas of development, from grooming to fitness, communication, wellness, and personal growth. A lot of work goes into training and preparing the contestants and the production itself, so patrons can always expect a very exciting and memorable show,” she added.

She said the Design Essentials team has been assisting the women, and some of the men, with hair maintenance, healthy hair practices, styling and competition grooming. Mudahy credited Marcia Lindgaard Calendar for making her skills and services available, and said trichologist Karl Richmond also delivered a useful session on hair and scalp health.

The male finalists have also received grooming support from the HEART College of Beauty Services, which provided barbers to help with styling and presentation during the competition. Mudahy said speech coach Adrian Atkinson worked with the contestants to strengthen their confidence and communication.

Fitness has also been part of the pageant preparation, with contestants given access to Fit Farm Fitness Centre. Mudahy said they were exposed not only to health and fitness guidance, but also to personal protection skills. Belinda Sutherland-Dowe of the Tourism Product Development Company Limited also led sessions on tourism awareness, the history of the sector, and how to promote Jamaica.

The Miss Supranational Jamaica 2026 finalists are Deborah Gordon, representing Dacx Production; Melissa Oliver, representing Fit Farm Fitness Club; Rasheda Green, representing Design Essentials; and Antonni James, representing Glam by O’Neil.

The Mister Supranational Jamaica 2026 contestants are Jordain Chambers, representing Atelier Dermoth Williams Limited; Kasheem Green, representing The Dental Place; Leopold Smith, representing All Signs; Laurence Pinnock, representing Cooyah; Sean-Pierre Coke, representing Knutsford Express; and Andrew Brown, representing The Prom Shoppe.
