Thompson-Herah leads six Jamaicans at Boris Hanzekovic Memorial in Zagreb

Elaine Thompson-Herah will race again today at the Boris Hanzekovic Memorial in Zagreb, stepping back onto the track after she missed the women's 100 metres final at the recent JAAA Puma National Senior and Junior Championships. The five-time Olympic champion is one of six Jamaicans entered at the World Continental Tour Gold meeting.

It marks her first competitive appearance in Europe since 2023. Her season's fastest time is 10.92 seconds, recorded earlier this year at a local meet in Kingston.

Brianna Lyston will run alongside her. Lyston did not take part in the National Championships but heads into Zagreb in winning form after clocking 10.99 to take first place at a World Continental Tour Gold meet in Hengelo one week ago.

Rushell Clayton, a two-time World Championships bronze medallist in the women's 400 metres hurdles, also skipped the nationals. She is scheduled to compete tomorrow, following a second-place finish at the recent Diamond League meet in Doha, where she will face world leader Emma Zapletalová once more.

Stacy-Ann Williams will close out Jamaica's track programme. The newly crowned national 400 metres champion ranks as the third-fastest Jamaican over the one-lap distance this season after securing her first senior national title with a comfortable win on Sunday.

National long jump champion Tajay Gayle will also be in action today.
