Tommie Tei Drops First Studio Album Progress Across Streaming Platforms

1 min read

Reggae recording artiste Tommie Tei has delivered Progress, his first studio album, which was released on May 22, 2026 by Young Kush Records and Tommie Tei Records. The 11-song set draws on both reggae and dancehall, giving the artiste a major milestone in his recording career.

Before this project, Tommie Tei had put out a number of singles along with a six-track EP. Progress is his first album-length body of work, built mostly from fresh recordings. Two songs had already been heard before the album: Still Can Make It, listed as track #4, and Happy And Free, listed as track #7.

Young Kush Records produced nine of the tracks on the project. K-Jah Sound produced Happy And Free, while Ghetto Life Records was behind Still Can Make It. Andre Green handled the mixing and mastering for the full album.

Tommie Tei said the project has been meeting a warm reception from listeners. “I am getting a very good response towards the album, persons are liking different songs, especially Work Harder and Happy And Free,” he said.

Asked what message he wants the audience to leave with, the artiste directed attention to the meaning of the album name. “I would like listeners to think about the title of the album. The name of the project is what we all need in our day-to-day life,” he said.

Progress can be streamed now on the major digital music platforms.
