
Dominican Power Plant Worker Dies in Lucea Road Crash as Hanover Fatalities Reach 20
A power plant operator from the Dominican Republic has died following a motor vehicle crash in Lucea, Hanover, on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Carlos Baze, who had been working in Jamaica and living at Stonebrook Manor in Trelawny.
Reports indicate that Baze was travelling in a Nissan AD Wagon from Montego Bay toward Lucea sometime after midday. On reaching the vicinity of the Ocean Point Housing Scheme intersection, he reportedly tried to pass a vehicle ahead of him but lost control and struck a motor car travelling in the opposite direction.
He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The incident brings to 20 the number of fatal motor vehicle accidents recorded in Hanover since the start of the year.
