Vybz Kartel earns 12th Billboard Reggae Albums chart entry

Dancehall megastar Vybz Kartel has earned his 12th entry on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart with the release of his latest studio project, God & Time.

The album debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart dated June 20, 2026, marking Kartel’s 12th project to appear on the sales- and streaming-based chart. The release also secures the highest debut for a dancehall album on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart so far in 2026.

Among Kartel’s previous charting projects are Viking (Vybz Is King) from 2015, which peaked at No. 3 during a six-week run, Kingston Story (2012), which spent seven weeks on the chart and reached No. 7, and Vybz Kartel Roots & Culture: The Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto (2013), which peaked at No. 6. He also returned to the chart in 2025 with Viking (Vybz Is King) Deluxe, which debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.

His highest-charting album to date remains King of the Dancehall (2016), which debuted at No. 2 and remained on the chart for 19 weeks. The project featured the crossover hit “Fever,” which later entered the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and earned Gold certification in the United States.

The 14-track God & Time, which was released on June 5, includes collaborations with Spice, Shenseea, Farruko, Skillibeng, Wizkid, and Mavado. Featured tracks include “Hype Life” with Mavado, “Confession” with Spice, “Stay For The Night” featuring Wizkid, “Casi Casi” with Farruko, and “Try Again” alongside Skillibeng and the previously released single “Panic” with Shenseea.

God & Time is also eligible for Grammy consideration, as Vybz Kartel looks to secure another nomination in the Best Reggae Album category following his previously nominated projects Party With Me and Heart & Soul. Both releases marked the deejay’s first-ever Grammy nominations.
