Yaksta delivers sophomore reggae album The Microphone Saved Me

1 min read

Reggae artiste Yaksta has issued his second full-length project, The Microphone Saved Me, which became available worldwide today across major digital and streaming services.

According to a release, the 15-song album centres on revolution, growth, thankfulness and love, while presenting those ideas in a fresh way. It says Yaksta also points to another phase of Rastafari togetherness among the different houses.

The statement describes the project as a display of Yaksta’s range as a lyricist and his bold approach to storytelling, with room as well for a lighter, playful side. The songs move through social reflection, spiritual conviction and moments drawn from his own life.

The album is led by the singles “Roar” and “The Return.” Its track list also includes “Order,” “Thankful” featuring Dre Tegs, “It’s Okay,” “Through it all,” “Jah Live,” “For Sale” featuring Silk Boss, “Life” featuring The Gideon, “Splinters in My Heart” featuring Troyton Music, and “Next to Me.”
