NHF wins the Greta Bogues Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance

 The National Health Fund (NHF) has again secured the Greta Bogues Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance, emerging as the Overall Winner at the 2025 Public Bodies’ Corporate Governance Awards.

The award was presented on June 29, 2026, after the 2025 ceremony was postponed due to Hurricane Melissa. The event, coordinated annually by the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service and the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica, recognised public bodies that demonstrate high standards of governance, accountability and organisational performance.

The NHF earned five sectional awards, placing first in three categories and third in two others:

• First Place – Financial Secretary Award for Risk Management and Internal Controls
• First Place – Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) Award for Best Annual Report
• First Place – JSE Award for Best Website
• Third Place – Carlene O’Connor Award for Governance Policies, Procedures and Practices
• Third Place – Finance Minister Award for Board Composition, Functions and Structure

Chief Executive Officer of the NHF, Everton Anderson, welcomed the recognition, describing them as a reflection of the organisation’s sustained commitment to sound governance and continuous improvement.

Anderson said that the entire NHF team is grateful to be recognised once more in this manner. “It is a humbling reflection of the steady day-to-day work that our Board of Management and staff put into upholding strong governance and effective organisational practices as we continue to position the entity to consistently deliver services of the highest standard,” he said.

Anderson noted that the organisation’s governance efforts extend beyond compliance, highlighting its ISO 9001:2015 certification across 18 locations, rigorous auditing practices, and continued focus on delivering excellent customer service. 

This year’s recognition marks another significant milestone for the NHF, which has consistently been recognised among Jamaica’s top-performing public bodies for excellence in corporate governance since the awards programme was established.
