Two Technicians Burned in Explosion at Downtown Kingston KFC

KINGSTON, Jamaica — An explosion at a KFC outlet in downtown Kingston on Wednesday left two technicians with burn injuries, Operations Manager Christopher Powell reported.
Powell, in a statement after the incident, said the company was first focused on protecting staff, customers and everyone else who had been at the restaurant.
He said the blast took place earlier in the day at one of KFC’s downtown Kingston restaurants. According to Powell, two technicians were burned and are now under medical care.
From the details available up to that point, the company said there was no report that any injury was considered life-threatening.
Powell also said the team moved quickly after the explosion to make the property safe and to put the required emergency response and assistance in place.
The restaurant chain said its attention remains on helping the injured workers recover while keeping employees and customers safe. More information is expected to be shared when it becomes available.
