KFC Explosion Prompts Fire Brigade Investigation in Downtown Kingston
KFC Explosion

The Jamaica Fire Brigade is preparing to inspect the KFC King Street location in downtown Kingston after an explosion at the restaurant left two technicians suffering from burn injuries.

Operations Manager Christopher Powell confirmed that the injured workers were treated for burns, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The incident has also raised concerns about emergency reporting procedures, with Senior Superintendent Patrick Gooden stating that firefighters were not officially informed about the incident.

Gooden stressed that the Jamaica Fire Brigade should be contacted immediately whenever there is a situation involving potential public safety risks or damage caused by fire-related incidents.

Authorities are now expected to carry out a site visit at the downtown Kingston restaurant as part of ongoing assessments following the explosion.

The explosion has drawn attention to safety protocols and the importance of timely notification to emergency responders in commercial establishments.
