JTB unveils Summer Vibes 2026 drive to pull visitors to festivals, sport and culture
The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has rolled out Jamaica Summer Vibes 2026, an islandwide push that runs until 31 August 2026 and puts the spotlight on the country’s summer festivals, sporting fixtures, cultural gatherings, food events and entertainment.
In a statement on Wednesday, 8 July, the board said the drive is aimed at encouraging travellers from across the globe to take in Jamaica’s well-known beaches, attractions, nightlife and local communities, “creating a complete destination experience that extends beyond any single festival or celebration.”
“Summer in Jamaica is unlike anywhere else in the world,” said Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett. “From world-class sporting events and internationally renowned festivals to our rich cultural celebrations and culinary traditions, Jamaica offers travelers an opportunity to experience the very best of the Caribbean. “Through the Jamaica Summer Vibes campaign, we are inviting visitors to be part of these unforgettable moments and create memories that will last a lifetime,” he added.
According to the JTB, the campaign draws attention to a packed summer schedule that includes A Taste of Reggae Sumfest in Ocho Rios on 18 July; Dream Weekend in Montego Bay from 30 July to 3 August; Best Weekend Ever from 6 to 10 August; the MoBay Jerk & Food Festival in Montego Bay on 1 August; the Come Alive Collective Worship Event in Kingston on 1 August; Emancipation Day Celebrations on 1 August; Independence Day Celebrations on 6 August; and Best Weekend Ever in Ocho Rios from 6 to 10 August.
Also on the calendar are Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Cricket in Kingston from 11 to 18 August; AnimeCom Fest in Kingston from 15 to 16 August; the Pan American Men’s Lacrosse Championship in Kingston from 16 to 23 August; Amalgamation: The Global Gala in Kingston from 28 to 30 August; and the Lover’s Leap Lighthouse Series on the South Coast on 28 August.
“Jamaica comes alive during the summer months,” said JTB Director of Tourism Donovan White. “Whether you’re dancing at a music festival, cheering on athletes, enjoying authentic Jamaican cuisine, discovering cultural traditions, or simply relaxing on one of our beautiful beaches, there’s an energy here that visitors can only truly understand by experiencing it firsthand. “This campaign captures that spirit and invites travelers to make Jamaica part of their summer story,” he added.
Central to the push is a hero destination film titled “This Could Be Your Summer,” which the JTB describes as a cinematic look at the island’s people, places and experiences.
