Jamaica reshuffle starting XI for 2026 Unity Cup final with Nigeria

Kingston

Jamaica adjusted their XI in four positions for Saturday’s 2026 Unity Cup final against Nigeria at Charlton Athletic stadium in London.

Defender Christopher Ainsworth, midfielders Dwight Merrick and Nickyle Ellis, and forward Dajaune Brown were brought in for the championship match against the defending team.

They came in for Odin Samuels-Clarke, Isaac Hayden, Tyreese Hall, and Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri, each of whom began Wednesday’s 2-0 semi-final win over India.

After finishing second in the 2022 and 2025 editions, Jamaica are seeking their first Unity Cup crown. Nigeria, winners of the three earlier stagings of the FIFA tier one tournament, reached the final by defeating Zimbabwe 2-0 in their semi-final.

Zimbabwe secured third place earlier Saturday with a 1-0 play-off victory over India.

Jamaica’s starting team is Coniah Boyce-Clarke, Christopher Ainsworth, Damion Lowe, Kyle Ming, Brandon Cover, Dwight Merrick, Courtney Clarke, Nickyle Ellis, Nickalia Fuller, Dajaune Brown, and Kaheem Dixon.
